Our mission at The Physiotherapy Place is to help our patients to make the quickest and fullest recovery from their injury. We have a wide and varied toolbox of treatments so once a diagnosis is made we will pick the techniques that we think are most appropriate to help you reach your goals. We are regularly undertaking professional development and doing new courses to make sure that our treatments are at the forefront of our profession and are backed up by the best evidence available. Manual Therapy and Manipulation

A specialised ‘hands on’ approach using mobilization and manipulation to restore normal range of motion of joints, promote flexibility and to regain normal muscle tone.

Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation

IMS is a dry needling technique in which needles are inserted into tight bands of muscle in order to affect the nerve supply to that muscle and cause it to release. IMS is extremely effective at treating a variety of conditions.

Exercise Therapy

A specific set of exercises that will be prescribed to you in order to help you get better including stretching, strengthening and stabilizing exercises to relieve symptoms and improve function.

Paediatric Physiotherapy

Paediatric physiotherapy aims to restore good movement and function in babies and children. We are delighted to have Hazel and Zenny of ABC Physiotherapy running clinics.

Sports Massage & Massage Therapy

The benefits of massage are numerous. Sports and remedial massage are focused, anatomically specific methods of massage that target and correct your physical issues.

Acupuncture

Targeting specific points along energy channels that the ancient Chinese termed meridians, thin needles are inserted to influence tissue healing and pain.

Electrotherapy & Ultrasound

Ultrasound to promote healing in muscles, ligaments, tendons; Interferential to reduce pain and muscle spasm; Heat and ice to reduce inflammation and promote healing.

Taping and Bracing

Using tape to provide additional support to an area and/or facilitate muscle activity.

Sports Therapy

Special focus on assessment and treatment of sports injuries for athletes, from recreational to elite. Individualised rehab programs will be constructed to enable quick and safe return to sport.

Dry Needling

The needle directly stimulates the trigger point (knot) causing a release that can usually be felt instantly. The release produced by dry needling is strong, quick, and long lasting.

Mechanical Traction

A safe and comfortable way to decompress the spine and take pressure of the joints, discs, and nerves. This is especially effective for the treatment of slipped discs and pinched nerves.
